I'm a die hard bibliophile. I can't get enough of books. I read anything from Plato to J.K. Rowling. I love the fantasy genre, anything historical, and anything that just completely blows your mind (ie. Sphere by Michael Crichton).

It's a shame, but I haven't seen any anime lately, I really should try to pick some up, it's been a while since I've delved into that genre. One thing close would be just watching Stars Wars: Clone Wars the animated movie. It was definitely geared towards a younger audience, but I loved it for that reason actually.

One of my most vivid memories as a child in regards to movies is "The Last Unicorn" My sister and I literally burned a hole in that VHS (showing my age) watching it so often. I have the distinct pleasure of saying I met the author of the book at Otakon (one of the largest Anime conventions in the U.S. in Baltimore) and now have an autographed anniversary addition of the book. That is definitely a featured piece in my collection!

I really should get back to work, but it's so cold I really don't feel like it :)

~VincentVincenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02877503432795210776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102180555401015665.post-44801580512102428942009-01-18T08:29:00.000+01:002009-01-18T08:29:00.000+01:00Oh my god, are you my long lost twin brother or wh...Oh my god, are you my long lost twin brother or what? Everything you listed is exactly what I like. One major thing that I would've mentioned is Books though.

We just started playing GHWT last night with my brother, played for ~6 hours straight. The game is seriously fun and I love the drums, although I've already played GH, GH2 and 3 through so the guitar is lots of fun too.

AMAZING MOVIE: Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, possibly my favorite movie of all time.

As for MMA, strikers are the most entertaining, I also like the ground part of the sport, but only when there's actually some action happening. (wrestlers who just sit on people = boooooooooring as hell.)

Favorite fight in UFC:
Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar
Some seriously brutal hits, also Forrest is my favorite fighter just because of his attitude etc.

About music, I'd have to say that I also like all kinds of music and it varies hugely on what I listen to each day. Usually I listen to one album or a set of songs I like from a artist for a day or two, or as long as I find something else or get bored of the songs.

Anime/Manga, I watch/read them seasonally, meaning I'll read/watch huge amounts for some days and then keep a break from them. Reading Berserk/naruto/kenichi/one piece now and watching Last Exile, Black Lagoon, Rurouni Kenshin(rewatching) at the moment.

Great animes: Hikaru no Go, Yakitate!! Japan, One Piece(good as both anime and manga), Great Teacher Onizuka, Prince of Tennis, Detective Conan, Code Geass, Hunter X Hunter(My personal favorite), Samurai Champloo and Rurouni Kenshin(the first anime I watched, owns.)lemlihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12250412019776772649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102180555401015665.post-71006202177196512152009-01-12T02:52:00.000+01:002009-01-12T02:52:00.000+01:00About Appleseed: I highly suggest both of the App...About Appleseed: I highly suggest both of the Appleseed Anime's, I've read the manga myself and the Anime is much less comical, much more drama/action. Both films are incredibly well made, well scripted, and well dubbed for English.

As for music suggestions, I could go on all day :) I've been getting into the more classic rock and in all aspects the opposite end of the rock spectrum - experimental rock. For those, my two favorites right now are of course the Beatles, and Death Cab for Cutie, and like Death Cab try Postal Service, it's a side project of the lead singer.

If you really need to relax but want something intellectually stimulating and emotionally charged, I cannot say enough good things about Damien Rice.

I see your putting in a music section to your blog, that's great I'll be perusing that.

What do you listen to while in game?

I find myself listening to more relaxing (experimental) music while solo/questing. While in 5 mans I tend to listen to a little more riveting music, Incubus among them.

~VincentVincenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02877503432795210776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102180555401015665.post-50436367978143746482009-01-11T20:03:00.000+01:002009-01-11T20:03:00.000+01:00I've just added a vide of my favorite MMA fighter ...I've just added a vide of my favorite MMA fighter to the post, check it out ;)Jamehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09818852948765501817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102180555401015665.post-38716777606603869082009-01-11T20:02:00.000+01:002009-01-11T20:02:00.000+01:00@Jiyambi Why am I not surprised we've got simi...@Jiyambi Why am I not surprised we've got similar music tastes ;)

I've added a playlist in the music section of this entry, check it out.

I'll definitely watch Death Note. I've been running short of good animes to watch lately, and I've heard good things about Death Note, so thanks!

I've seen the Dark Knight, loved it of course.

And more power to you about Dungeons & Dragons, nerdy chicks are the best! Nerdy chicks who also happen to do Karate are even cooler haha ;)

@Vincent

I should watch the Appleseed films. See, I actually read the manga about 10 years ago, it was one of the first mangas imported in France ;) But I haven't seen the anime, so thank you for reminding me!

Interesting bands too, I'll check them out, since I don't know them all.Jamehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09818852948765501817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102180555401015665.post-23835887267106066902009-01-10T04:46:00.000+01:002009-01-10T04:46:00.000+01:00Like you Jame I have a multitude of hobbies includ...Like you Jame I have a multitude of hobbies including WoW and other games. Music is a huge part of my life, as is literature and film. I enjoy many different adventure sports as well, mountain biking, hiking, scuba diving among them.

As for your request for great movies, since we share a liking for Anime, I'd certainly recommend the Appleseed films. Honestly I could go on to limitless movie nods, I try my best to see every film that looks even remotely interesting. As an devoted follower of Rock music as well, and specifically classic and folk rock, an absolute must see is "Almost Famous"

If we were to talk of what I am listening to most right now, that would certainly be John Butler Trio, Iron and Wine, Elbow, The Weepies, Damien Rice, and other folk/classic/hippie rock.

Keep up the great work on your WoW guides, they are helping me considerably in leveling my Rogue!Vincenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02877503432795210776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102180555401015665.post-60635512441836360052009-01-04T06:20:00.000+01:002009-01-04T06:20:00.000+01:00Thanks for this awesome insight into the life of J...Thanks for this awesome insight into the life of Jame! ;)

Funny, we have very similar tastes in music, woot for being eclectic!

Also I <3 martial arts, I have had MMA recommended to me as well, need to check it out. I practices Karate for a long time in High School and some during college as well.

For anime: check out Death Note if you haven't already. It's very dark but a beautiful, suspenseful, and intellectual anime. It's my all time favorite, though Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist both have special places in my heart ;)

My favorite movies of late are the two new Batmans. I got The Dark Knight for Christmas and have watched it twice since then, and saw it twice also when it was in theatres. Check them out if you haven't yet.

Only other things I do in my free time are read (excessively, actually) and play Dungeons and Dragons (yes I'm that nerdy). If you also like to read, I highly recommend the Kushiel series, and also the Nightruner Series. A bit erotic in some parts but very well-written fantasy :)Sarah Herzoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18123947424114235057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7102180555401015665.post-41009295651138940732009-01-02T17:56:00.000+01:002009-01-02T17:56:00.000+01:00That's me alright, Old School. I'm not so much into manga, but I have read a few series.

Other than that, its the usual movies, books (both in the action/thriller genre) and knitting. But its quite open - as i play wow on my laptop, sometimes I bring it to work to do some daily quests and mining. When im back, on a "no raid day", i do daily HC with my guildies and daily pvp.

Music is my passion though - im always with it. (mp4 player, laptop, work computer) Sometimes im afraid i may start loosing my hearing, cause listening for all day, quite laud and usually from Minimal, Dub-Step, Dnb to easy listening etc.

Another busy thing i have - a doggie. Hes only ~6 months and requires a lot of attention.

Moovies and cinema - of course. And i always trie to find some time to spend with my friends. As Im quite social :)
Prob my guildmates suffering from my "briliant ideas" chat most of the time..

What recommendations i could offer hm. I was always keen on some serious cinema and arts (non Spidemanish, Supermanish and so on), so i could recomend seeing "Green street huligans" , "In Bruges", "Pulp fiction" (but i think you got this one no doubts :). "It`s all gone :Pete Tong", "6th sense", "Iceage 1" is my altime favorite.

BTW, let me thank for you guides - i`ve hit my 80DK LvL in Zul`Dr! :)
And sinsce then - i stopped with quests. If you've seen it already.. see it again! it's always a great flick ;) another great movie is Papillon. I also recommend seeing Koyaanisqatsi, but I might be way out of line. It's not a regular cinematic adventure but more of a collection of gorgeous nature- and nasty industry -scenes.

And there you have it, I hope you'll like any of it. ;)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03782576648332839324noreply@blogger.com
